Our Ambition for Women and Girls
Like Golf New Zealand, Pupuke acknowledges that there are challenges for women and girls in golf and that gender equity measures, alongside a robust and cohesive plan, are needed to close the gender gap.

Golf New Zealand has launched a strategy for women and girls called Our Ambition.
​
Our Ambition aims to inspire the whole golf sector to be collectively responsible for outcomes that will contribute towards a more inclusive culture for women and girls in golf.
​
At Pupuke, we support this tenfold.
She Loves Golf
What is She Loves Golf?
As part of Golf New Zealand's Ambition for Women & Girls, She Loves Golf is about creating enjoyable and social experiences for women of all ages to inspire a love for golf.
It's about letting women know that golf isn’t the stuffy and elitist sport that it is often stereotyped as, it’s an ageless activity, with so many ways to play. You can be active and hang out with your friends at the same time, you can meet new people, and you can play as many holes as you like and you don't even have to keep score!
There are events, promotions and opportunities to learn and play at Pupuke, all tailored especially for women. Keep an eye out in our upcoming events for our next programmes.

We currently boast New Zealand's BIGGEST She Loves Golf programme!
With over 230 ladies learning to play golf every Tuesday evening over Summer, we have 7 coaches dedicated to coaching women.
​
All our programme sessions run for an hour, and no equipment is necessary as we have everything you need to learn!

She Loves Golf Summer Chip & Sip programmes:
Tuesday evenings 5pm, 6pm or 7pm
These programmes run approximately: Oct- Dec and Feb-Mar

Chip & Sip is a fun summer version of She Loves Golf running weekly, for 6-weeks before and after Christmas (Term 4 2024: 29 Oct - 2 Dec). Think Golf, Bevy's and Social! See below for more details. We will start a 6-week programme in Term 1 2025 (11 Feb - 18 Mar) - tickets will be released early December 2024.

She Loves Golf winter programmes:
Tuesday lunch 12pm
Sunday morning 10am or 11am

Our winter groups are hardcore learners and love it! A few of the girls have taken to bringing bubbles for their morning sessions – what a great way to spend Sunday!

Need a buddy or a mentor? Email us and we will find you a friend. Give us some details about yourself (age, golf ambitions - even if it is to hit a ball...), and we will try to find someone in the same or similar waka as you.

SHE LOVES GOLF - CHIP & SIP
Times: Tuesday nights during daylight savings – 5pm, 6pm or 7pm session
Chip & Sip is a fun summer version of She Loves Golf. These are learn-to-play sessions for complete beginners or for those who are a little more experienced. We have ladies repeating these courses over and over because – 1. practice makes perfect – and 2. they’re just so fun and social! These are the most unintimidating environments you will get to learn.
With 8 coaches, we are able to accommodate up to 220 ladies in one evening. Our summer courses come with a FREE alcoholic beverage and a fun social gathering after each session where each group comes together to have a yarn and a sip (or two).
On the last session we all enjoy cheese platters and a mini prize giving for participation. All our programmes come with Spot Prizes which are given out at the prize giving (these nights are the best and may or may not feature some World Famous in New Zealand ladies.
SHE LOVES GOLF 6’s
Every Tuesday night in Summer from 5pm you can jump on the front 9 and play as many holes as you like before it get’s too dark!

Cost: FREE
​
On Sundays we will block off a few tee spots for She Loves Golfers to play as many holes as you like. Please book at golf@pupukegolf.co.nz so we know how many to expect each week.
​
And sometimes we run SLG 6's competitions on a Sunday - we'll keep you posted via email and social media on these.
